In order to ensure that the hose is used during its effective use, an appropriate system should be established to control the storage of the hose. Hoses should be stored in accordance with the principles conducive to effective control and first in first out. However, due to the influence of temperature, lighting and other factors, the effective life of hose and hose assembly is difficult to define.

 

In german-speaking countries, storage of hoses and hoses assemblies must be carried out in accordance with the relevant DIN 200666:2002-10 standards. The relevant excerpt is as follows: the hose used in the assembly must be within 4 years (from the date of hose production). The hose assembly shall be timed from the date of production and its service life shall not exceed 6 years. During these six years, the storage time shall not exceed two years. In addition, the ISO version of the hose/assembly instructions (ISO/TR 17165-2) is slightly different from that of DIN standards:

 

 

ISO/TR 17165-2 stipulates that the hose/hose assembly shall be valid for no more than 10 years from the date of manufacture (from the date of hose production).

 

If the hose is in doubt after storage (for example, the surface is cracked, corroded, etc.), it must be pressure tested before use. The hose assembly in use is related to the safety of equipment and personnel and should always be used in accordance with the specifications.
